    Color
    Amber
    Nose
Well balanced, rich, winey at first but after sitting for a while is more caramel.
    Body
    Medium
    Palate
Simple at first but in a good way, no outstanding challenging flavours, but a well made spirit that has honey, toffee a touch of peat and spice that develops with a bitter note like orange peel that is nicely balanced not too sweet, a good one "on the rocks"
    Finish
Unusual, leaves the tongue numb as mentioned by someone else, lingers with oak aromas developing, warming

    Color
    Reddish amber in the glass
    Nose
    Delicate & sweet
    Body

    Palate
immediate clean grains, then sweetness of sherry cask hits you--at once dispensed by the oak, followed by malt; this happens quickly so it appears to balance
    Finish
Sherry returns for a warm, sweet finish

Note: this review refers to the 12 year, NOT the 10 year Aberlour, which is not found on the site but very common in shops in my area... Don't be put off by the sherry casks, or the fruity nose; there' a lot more going on here...

    Color
    Pale Gold
    Nose
Sweet, heavy butterscotch notes, smoke, alcohol.
    Body
Very thin, it leaves very little impression, but for some reason I don't mind. . .
    Palate
again, heavy on the butterscotch, but the sweetness disappeared to quickly, there isn't that much from there on in.
    Finish
    Warm and numb,

I like it, but that's not to say that it's a good single malt. For some reason, even the bad sides of this whiskey appeal to me.

    Color
    Light caramel color.
    Nose
Sweet, toffee, pleasantly rounded. It reminds me of a medical baby syrup.
    Body
Mediocre thick, soft. Like a step into muddy water.
    Palate
Honey, maybe peach, vanilla, with a slight alcohol bite and interesting "curve/bend" end of its flavour.
    Finish
A rounded sweet hot finish. Not too intensive. Quite calm.

This was my first single malt whisky. I like its softness and sweetness. I will remember it for its "bended" flavour finish that contradistinguishes it from other sweet Speyside whiskies like Cardhu 12 or Glenfiddich 12.

    Nose
As it should smell! Syrupy, a hint of vanilla and some oak. Very inviting.
    Body
Very thin, almost like old water. It feels like it evaporates too quickly or that its some kind of mixed drink. The body seriously dissapoints.
    Palate
Very good start, with some faint whiff of iodine, then some caramel and lastly the vinalla comes down. Eventually it all fades and really doenst satisfy.
    Finish
Leaves a numb feeling in the mouth, almost like it has bad alcohol in it, or that it has been added later (not implying anything here). It stays for a long time, but its not a pleasant feeling. It lacks warmth.

A mediocre single malt, just bought this and when i opened the cardbord cover it was very promising, since it has a dark color and I have had only pleasant memories of the more amber looking whiskies. BUt eventually it dissapoints, it even left a bitter taste in my mouth. Not really what you would excpect from Aberlour. And certainly not from a 10 year old single malt.

    Color
    Pale amber
    Nose
    Sweet, slghtly peaty
    Body
    Awkward and almost thin
    Palate
Initially promising, sweet and peaty but soon it all goes quite sour.
    Finish
Short sweet start, depressing bitter finish, slightly hot.

There are much much better single malts out there. There are also much better Aberlour whiskeys out there.

A strong little bottle. It would be great given more time in the barrel. None the less, very enjoyable.

    Nose
The best part of the malt.Sweet toffee, butterscotch, slightly spicy with sweet malt undertones. Mouth: Slightly spicy, some gentle sweetness
    Palate
Artificial tasting. No complexity. The sweatness comes and goes quickly.I don't "trust" the authenticity of this malt, maybe caramel, maybe bad casks, whatever. I don't enjoy this
    Finish
A hint of spice overtaken by "dullness." My tongue is left with a odd, numb coating.

Others like this one; it is one of my least favorite singles.
