Ballantine's Finest is a complex, refined and elegant blended scotch whisky. It is regarded as the taste to satisfy a modern style. The original flavour, complexity and refinement comes from more than 50 single malt flavours. The unmistakable Ballantine's flavour is dependent on these 50 single malts, 4 single grains and in particular the fingerprint malts from Miltonduff and Glenburgie. It is balanced because no one single component dominates.

Got as gift from a friend. Not sure whats the price here in India. If within 1500/- then it is indeed a drink which deserves to be open.

- Color
- Golden to brown
- Nose
- Lovely vanilla and pears, a minor touch of smoke and peat
- Body
- Light yet full
- Palate
- spices and vanilla, fruits and tinges of smoke and peat, perfectly balanced for what reminds me of a good Speyside SM
- Finish
- Medium to long, but perfect length for the style, leaving you with a sweet aftertaste and a longing for another (opens up the cabinet...)
A brilliant blend, far and above one of the best blends available, particularly for the price

- Nose
- Musty, hint wood smoke, refined, creme, gentle citrus.
- Body
- Refined, Grainy, Love it.
- Palate
- Refined, Grainy, Creamy malt folds to soft creme lemon. Oak hint too. Like a cereal box and musty wood.
- Finish
- grainy, creme lemon, hint wood smoke. satisfying.
Review of 1950 bottle - great. Like a cereal box. What is that grainy feel? Modern bottle Not even grainy. Sick sweetness like artificial. No wood smoke or grainy. What is damn point drinking it. Was not spirit's like some starter blends. Gets 10 point for that.

- Nose
- Bottled Cherries and Cool sea Breeze
- Body
- Medium and a little oily.
- Palate
- Touch of smoke, sea air, Vanilla, chocolate, and a hint of peppers. Wonderful and flavorful.
- Finish
- The semi-sweet chocolate berries lingers around playing on the sea shore as the spice of the peppers show up but quickly leaves the party.
This a terrific dram. It's well rounded with flavors and a perfect balance between the sweet and savory. It's readily available and decently priced here in Hawaii. Definately an everyday whisky.

- Vanilla almond with evident grain, a good balance

- The finish - where is it? Timid at best. Honestly, for $5 less, I'll take a Clan MacGregor.
The lightest of airy blends, I don't buy the comparison with Glenmorangie at all.

- Color
- Gold.
- Nose
- Sour apples, grassy lowlands.
- Body
- Medium bodied, balancing oil and astringency.
- Palate
- Swish this around for awhile...you get a good balance of flowers (lavendar and violet), leather, wet hay, some butter/toffee.
- Finish
- Finally, some malt hits...youthful but lasting quite long for what I gather to be some younger spirits in there, a bit sharp on the edges.
This is a really nice offering at an unbelievable price. I got a 750mL for under $15 USD, expecting nothing but a mixer. I was wrong. This isn't quite up to JW Black, but it blows away JW Red. I'd put it against most spirits served neat at twice the price. Poor on the nose, mediocre on the finish, but a great swisher!

I can tell you with certainty this is one of the best all around blends. The price is so cheap you cant believe the deal. At times the palate reminds me of Lagavulin aged quality. Huge flavor. always have it in your cabinet for an everyday dram.

About the worst whisky you can find around here. Cheap simple and not particularly pleasant, although OK. I always choose any other.
