A much-loved single malt, as shown by the huge furore created after Diageo announced it was to be relaunched as a vatted malt. Fortunately, they were persuaded to reconsider and the malt remains the product of one distillery. That aside, this is a charming Speysider for the sweet-toothed among you.

- light oak with a touch of pear and a light vanilla bourbon
- Body
- a thin yet almost creamy vanilla, applepear (if you have not had one – try it), then there is a slight void, and then a soft pink peppercorn like note on the late mid and finish
- Palate
- a mild-medium body, soft and smooth, light warmth and low burn on the mid palate, slightly oily texture
- Finish
- faint finish at first but warms up a little after a few sips but that is not saying much, short lived on the finish
I am a beginner with this scotch thing. I have had a few with my friends and enjoyed them. I do beer and wine reviews and they thought I could do scotch. I thought I would give it a try. The guys at the party store I go to directed me to this one knowing that I am a beginner. Along with a bottle of Belvenie 15.

- Citrus with fruit and nutty with a hint of cinnamon: a carb-filled meal all in one

- Light bodied with a smooth movement over the tongue

- Citrus and butterscotch ( no pun intended) with vanilla and cinnamon at the end
- Finish
- Finished nice and smooth. The taste gets better and better for quite a while. One of the finest finishes I have had from the speyside region.
A very nice speyside treat. Finishes strong and neat. Much more than I expected. The citrus and cinnamon are unmistakably complex in nature and long lasting to say the least. not my favorite scotch, but one that is well worth trying...

- Sweet, with a dash of very pleasant heat attached.

- Thin. This single malt reveals itself very quickly and then is gone. But what a show.

- On the thin, sweet side. That might sound disparaging, but it's not meant to be.
- Finish
- Not a long finish, in keeping with its quick-and-clean body. But it's a joy to drink.

A gem; everything you enjoy a Speyside for, with the intricate and fine character we crave in Scottish malts; a dandy of a dram.

- A great nose for a beginner who has yet to be able to smell "fruity". Strong pear smell.

- Thick, almost syrupy.
- Palate
- Typical honey and spice of the speyside. If you like Balvenie, Dalwhinnie, and Aberlour you will like this. Perhaps a tad of bitterness?
- Finish
- Lingering smoky-spicy aftertaste that is of medium duration.
Obvious why this is the drink of choice in Spain. It is pleasant, but more importantly it is utterly inoffensive. It's hard to get in the US at the reasonable price it is listed at in Spain... A drop of water opens it up tremendously.
