Very "bright" and somewhat tinny. Very thin and not much roll in the mouth. A fallback dessert dram.

- Color
- Yellow gold in the glass
- Nose
- Dry vanilla oak nose of extreme subtlety
- Body
- Light
- Palate
- Clean grains and a vanilla honey suggestion, with a blast of sweetness eventually giving quarter to malt, for the success of the balance.
- Finish
- The finish remains...sweet...
Many may disagree, but I find nothing inspiring or distinctive in this dram that justifies the $60 price-tag and all the hype. These tastings leave me decidedly unattached, and with so many superior malts in it's own region for far better bang, why buy?

- Color
- Golden goodness
- Nose
- Malted smoke with a hint of citrus and honey
- Body
- Medium bodied. Tough but no grit. Smooth with a bit of water added.
- Palate
- A bit bitter and heavy on the phenols. Rested for a while, it only gets better. Tasted right, honey will team up with vanilla.
- Finish
- Bitterness will subside with time but the sweat smokey ending can be short lived. Enjoy it while it lasts.
For a 15 year old single malt, this one could be better. Has all the right parts but nothing stand out. Let it rest and add some h2o for better results. I will set this out to share with rookie single matters who need practice.

- Nose
- Light oak, honeysuckle and citrus
- Body
- Very light almost dainty
- Palate
- One note. Very light oak flavor with some light floral and fruit under tones.
- Finish
- Short finish that is very tame. Aside from the price certainly a good beginner’s scotch.
Very under whelming scotch.

- Color
- Golden straw
- Nose
- Sweet, a hint of smokiness
- Body
- Light, rolls around your tounge easily.
- Palate
- This is one of the more earthy malts I've tasted. It has a mild, generic sweetness, but it doesn't really remind me of any certain flavor.
- Finish
- The earthiness continues through the finish. Lingering mild smokiness is there is you're looking for it.
If it was $10 USD cheaper, I'd view this malt much more favorably. It is an easy-to-drink malt that works well as a daily dram, but it lacks distinction. There is nothing wrong with it... it just doesn't have anything special. Even poor quality malts have something that distinguishes them. This one doesn't. It is pleasant and easy to drink, but doesn't differentiate itself in any way.

- Color
- Gold, like a flat pilsener beer
- Nose
- Sweet fruit, grassy soil, more so with a few drops of water (also aerate this one a fair bit to reduce the phenolic attack on the nose).
- Body
- Light bodied, thin feel on the tongue even though the legs on the glass were pretty viscous. Again, a few drops of water improves the buttery feel on the tongue.
- Palate
- Confirms the nose, fruity malt, a grassy salad with fresh ground white pepper at the tail end.
- Finish
- Medium warm but quite long. A little more attack than other 15's I've tried.
This is a nice representation of the Highlands - fruity malt and grassy, with a light pepper finish. I suggest water drops and patience aerating this one for best results. On final tastings of this malt, I dropped it a couple points due to some unwarranted/undesired phenolic attack.
