The result of Master Blender Tom Aitken's extensive search for true taste perfection, DEWAR's 12 uses only 12 year old whiskies of the highest quality producing a superior, smooth and perfectly balanced whisky. The culmination of over a century and a half of whisky making, it draws its rich flavour from a unique double ageing process and has a full, fruity nose, reminiscent of sultanas, raisins and Scottish heather.

- Body
- Smooth and pleasant texture
- Finish
- Not bad at first, but starts going in a bad direction as it tails out.
I tried this last month and didn't care for it, but finding it on sale the other day, decided that with such a loyal following, it must be that I needed to try it over a period of time to find it's subtleties. After a few days with it now, I'm sure that it's not a good choice for me, and this may sound like blasphemy to some, but I've actually made it more palatable for my tastes by mixing it about half and half with some McClelland's Islay Single Malt. By itself and uncut, I got more enjoyment out of just keeping it in the glass for the pleasant fragrance, but upon drinking it found myself wishing it tasted more like it smells.

- Color
- Light amber
- Nose
- Pete, oak
- Body
- very light, close to a Chivas
- Palate
- pete, and oak, not to sweet
- Finish
- Thin, so not a long finish
For the money this is a great everyday sipper. Great balance between pete, oak. Sometimes the sweetness of Johnnie Walker black gets to much, and you can switch to this one for awhile

- Color
- Golden
- Nose
- Honey, faint peat, fresh grains, phenol/tannins, iodine, citrus. Lovely really.
- Body
- Quite a heavy, oily mouthfeel
- Palate
- Oaky tannins, iodine, malty grains, honey, some peat as well
- Finish
- Warm and smooth finish. Why blends were created afterall.
No surprises here save the faint peat in the nose and palate as i was expecting a more unaffected dram. A solid blend for beginners and/or those wanting to get back to center. Worth the experience and coin. I've been an avid Single Malt drinker for years and this is just fine.

A great balanced blend. Can be had for great prices, making it an excellent buy
