A sound dram that can be has neat or with a couple of drops of water and still hold its own... But for any novice, please spend a little more and get a nice single malt.

- Color
- Very light and pale
- Nose
- Lemon with hints of honey. Weak on the nose. One of its only weakness's
- Body
- Thin and wet.
- Palate
- Nutty, with citrus and pepper. The lemon shows up at the end.
- Finish
- Warm but brisk. Definitive flavors that whisk by too quick.
A great place to start when exploring Blended Scotch. Quality product for the price. First tried it alone but will use as a mixer in the future.

- Color
- Light Straw
- Nose
- Lightly honeyed malt, slightly damp grass and a little sea air. Some graininess with a slight bit of alcohol apparent.
- Body
- Light bodied, for sure. I suspect this is a blend of no more than 20% malt content, possibly somewhat less. While grain whisky done right can be quite good, this is not like that.
- Palate
- Cheap malt, pencil shavings, wee peat, and the slighest hint of vanilla.
- Finish
- Short whisp of peat and offputting graphite.
Something tells me decades ago it was Perhaps a solid blend, but with time, conformed to attempted mass appeal blend trends, opting for vague light flavor and sweetness over any kind of decent complexity or full flavor. While a highly mundane blend, at least it's not the worst I've had (that distinction would be reserved for Lauder's), and it has some brief enjoyable moments.

- Color
- amber -2
- Nose
- Ginger ale , honey very sweet, wax, lemonheads 28/33
- Body
- Medium viscosity, slow running sticky-looking legs. Thin mouthfeel.
- Palate
- Citrus, then smokey but mild peatiness. Alcohol taste is prominent. 22/33
- Finish
- Mostly a mild burn of alcohol, this stuff is young, not a hint of smoothness. Mild smokiness is in the back. 20/33 not bad for a cheap blend .
I am surprised at this little guy. The names of lots of Brit Royalty doesnt mean much; it's a cheap whisky, but I like it. That's the surprise. I took it neat in a Glencairn. Lovely nose that belies the less refined palate and sorry finish. Drink it if your only other choice is Jack.

- Nose of berries and citrus
- Body
- Light, yet determined
- Palate
- Fine grains give way to a hint of spicy vanilla, a decent balance
- Finish
- None to speak of...the only issue with this whisky
Short on finish, but still enjoyable. On par with Clan as my go-to blend at this price; very sound dram.

- Citrus, hint of apples, Buttery, very little malt, and slight smoke.

Pleasant, but I'm concerned with how little the taste of malt I'm picking up. I think its because its a blend of mostly grains.

- Color
- Straw
- Nose
- light Peat, fruity, grassy.
- Body
- medium body
- Palate
- a little hot and peppery. Light, peaty, lemony, very sweet.
- Finish
- has a good smoky smooth finish that is pretty long. Leaves a good numbness on the tongue and a good sweet stickiness on the finish as well, leaving you wanting to take another pull like any good whiskey should do.
There are many good scotches on the market. This is one of them. J & B is an old contender and maybe because of that it has lost some popularity, but in my opinion, it's a darn good blend. Especially for the price. It has a pretty good nose, it's pretty smooth and has a good taste about it. It finishes well and it's a good quality liquor. I like to drink my scotch with ice and J & B takes to ice very well, which means that it has some depth and character. It's my everyday scotch.
